When someone talk about sustainability in architecture we immediately think about photovoltaic system, underfloor heating, heat pump and other high-tech solutions. Obviously we are not wrong.
However we must no forget that HighTech solutions are made with the same mass industrial production that has led the Planet in the conditions that all we know. In my opinion cause cannot be the solution.
We have to squeeze all the potential energy from nature with a meticulous passive design to heat and cool buildings. LowTech approach is cheaper and truly sustainable. When we have reach the limit we can start to think about the use of HighTech solutions. Is not a war between the two system but a priority issue.
